Intergalactic Cook-Off
Developed as my undergrad capstone project, I worked as a narrative designer on Moongoose Games' Intergalactic Cook-Off, a cooking competition simulator set in outer space. I was primarily responsible for the world-building, determining the game's visual aesthetic, guiding the character design process, writing dialogue, and updating the design document when necessary to reflect these decisions.

6 Degrees & Casual Critters
Hired by the Canadian Ministry of Environment and Climate Change through Wilfrid Laurier University's BGN Lab, I was part of a 12-student team that developed two mobile apps geared towards encouraging players to consider their impact on climate change. As a member of the design team, I was responsible with coming up with the narrative, game mechanics, and the upkeep of the design document for our art and programing teams. The video below is just one in a series of development vlogs the team recorded.

Escape Rooms
The You Are Wanted Experience
This project was promotional material for an Amazon Prime show in Germany called "You Are Wanted", which let players experience certain plot points of the show through a series of social challenges and puzzles. As one of the designers hired through the BGN Lab, I was responsible for the ideations and the documentation of the team's designs, which were then sent to the client as a guide to build the escape rooms. The video below is a walkthrough of the final product. |
Red Bull Mind Gamers World Championship 2019
Red Bull Mind Gamers World Championship is an international escape room competition where teams from various countries race to see who can complete the challenges and puzzles the quickest. I joined the design team during the second half of development, mainly helping with playtesting the challenges and helping the designers refine both the challenges and the design document. The video, mainly lead by Professor Scott Nicholson, walks through some of that process. |
Other Relevant Experiences
Press Start to BGN
From November 2016 to March 2019, I was a co-host on a weekly Radio Laurier show called Press Start to BGN, where my fellow hosts and I reported on gaming news, as well as discuss various topics related to games (e.g. a discussion on whether there's too many games being published). The show saw a popular following, especially among the student body at Wilfrid Laurier University's Waterloo campus.
Laurier Library Gaming Collection
During my undergrad, I worked with the Laurier Library Gaming Collection as a Student Librarian, which involved the upkeep of over 100 board games, 200 digital games, and 7 gaming consoles. I also provided game recommendations to patrons based on their described game preferences.
Playtesting Facilitation
As a strong believer in iterative design, I have been part of the many playtest facilitations that were done during the BGN Lab projects I was a part of. I have been trained to do so ethically, as I have a TCPS 2: CORE Certificate of Completion (dated July 21st, 2017)
